How to Draw Caricatures...
Coming soon to this page you will see a video going through the steps of how someone can learn to draw caricatures. I have had many ask me how I draw caricatures so uniquely. There really is no secret, you just have to draw thousands and thousands of them and then it will start to click. So here are a few secrets that I have that might be helpful until I get the video posted.
1. Always use a pen when drawing. Let your mistakes becomes part of the drawing. You aren't trying to draw a masterpiece so let the drawing become what it wants to become.
2. Draw with quick motions so that your drawing looks clean. If you are afraid of making mistakes please refer to step 1.
3. Try to make it more goofy than realistic. Caricatures aren't suppose to look exactly like that person (that would be a portrait). If you can recognize one or two physical features of the person and then the rest is super goofy you are on the right track.
4. Don't worry about offending the person you are drawing. If he or she has a big nose draw the nose huge! If he or she has a big gap in their teeth draw it! It will make them laugh harder and if you leave out those dominant physical features they will just think you don't know how to draw caricatures.
5. The more you draw the better you will become.
